#Dropkickmonday Devo 12/1/14

Many of the words and verses of the prophet Isaiah have ended up on coffee mugs and Christian t-shirts around the world. This passage comes from chapter 40. A chapter written to remind the people who their God is. A chapter to encourage the people and give them comfort in the midst of their trials and tribulations. Today is a Monday after a long holiday weekend, that is a trial all in itself…

28Do you not know?
Have you not heard?
The Lord is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
and his understanding no one can fathom.
29 He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.
30 Even youths grow tired and weary,
and young men stumble and fall;
31 but those who hope in the Lord
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.

Are you tired? Do you feel beaten up? Have the holidays already taken a toll on you? This is a reminder. It is an encouragement. Are you allowing Monday to sap your energy, your spirit, your joy? Do you not know? Have you not heard? The God who made all things, the God who spoke all things into existence, he is everlasting. He does not get tired. He does not grow faint. He does not lose power or show weakness. The worst Monday in the world cannot slow him down or stop his plans. Plans that he has for you. This God, this God who is immune to pain in the butt that an alarm clock on a cold Monday morning is, this God will renew you. He will encourage you. He will strengthen you. You can #dropkickmonday knowing full well that this God will power you through it. Trust and lean on him, he’s ready, he’s waiting, he’s going to help you #dropkickmonday.
