God is always faithful. He always provides us with what we need. Even if your week is looking long and cold and draining already, he’s gonna provide you with what you need. You just have to be willing to trust him and take a step of faith.
There’s a story in the book of Numbers reminds us of these very points.
From Mount Hor they set out by the way to the Red Sea, to go around the land of Edom. And the people became impatient on the way. 5 And the people spoke against God and against Moses, “Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there is no food and no water, and we loathe this worthless food.” 6 Then the Lord sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people, so that many people of Israel died. 7 And the people came to Moses and said, “We have sinned, for we have spoken against the Lord and against you. Pray to the Lord, that he take away the serpents from us.” So Moses prayed for the people. 8 And the Lord said to Moses, “Make a fiery serpent and set it on a pole, and everyone who is bitten, when he sees it, shall live.” 9 So Moses made a bronze[c] serpent and set it on a pole. And if a serpent bit anyone, he would look at the bronze serpent and live.
The people were complaining God responded to their complains and reminded them that things can always get worse. No matter how bad your week is looking, you aren’t being chased and bitten by fiery serpents sent by God.
Once the people realized what had happened and why they cried out looking for God to save them. And, because God is good and loving he told Moses to put a serpent image on a pole an if you looked at it you would be saved and not die.
All they had to do was look. Just glance up. I’m sure there were people who didn’t believe that would save them. I’m sure they did look at the serpent because they were too proud too arrogant, how can that possibly save me?
Just trust him. Trust he will take care of you. Trust that while this week might look overwhelming and chaotic, he has the ability and power to get you through it all. Believe he can, believe he will, trust him, and if he is calling you to do something, just do it. Look up he’s probably got something to show you. Do you have the guts to look up?
