The great George Strait once sang: “There’s a difference in living and and living well.”
It’s easy to fill up on caffeine, put your head down, earbuds in, and get through your day with minimal engagement or effort. That is not what you were made for. You were made for so much more. You were made to connect, embrace, and enjoy life. Even on a Monday after a holiday.
In Psalm 139 David proclaims that God knows when he sits and when he rises. No matter where he goes and what he does God knows him. David doesn’t see this as a bad thing. It isn’t a “big brother” kind of situation. Rather, David sees this as a blessing and encouragement. This is true for us today.
You were “fearfully and wonderfully made.” God knows you you. It’s not that he knew you, he knows you. He continues to watch and pay attention and care for you. If he is invested in you, why live in such a way that ignores and minimizes the gifts and talents God gave you? Why go through life merely “getting through”? You were made for more.
Today is the start of your week. Be intentional with it. Engage with the day. Don’t just get through but rather do what you can to set up your week for a win. You can decide to just live or you can live well. You can live up to the potential that is in you. You can live up toward the person God made you to be. It starts with #dropkickMonday because you were made to live well.
How do you #dropkickmonday? What do you do to set yourself up for a good week? Leave your comments here or hit me up on twitter and use the hashtag.
